CHEER Membership Code of Conduct
- Inclusivity and Respect: CHEER is dedicated to fostering healthy lifestyles for those over 50. We welcome everyone, regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin. Respect and civility towards others and their property are paramount.
- Independence and Self-Care: Members and guests should be capable of independent movement and self-care within CHEER facilities, including restroom use and eating without assistance. Personal assistants are welcome if they provide necessary support without replacing adult day care services.
- Behavioral Standards:
- Maintain personal hygiene and avoid disruptive behavior.
- Follow CHEER registration procedures for all events and activities.
- Refrain from taking photographs without express consent of subject and permission of the director.
- Avoid actions that pose danger or engage in intimidating or aggressive behavior.
- Wear appropriate clothing and refrain from possessing offensive materials.
- Abstain from illegal activities or unauthorized solicitation on CHEER premises.
- Treat members, staff and guests with respect and dignity
- Health and Safety:
- Intoxicated individuals will not be allowed and will be offered transport assistance.
- Smoking is only allowed in designated outdoor areas.
- Firearms or weapons are strictly prohibited on CHEER property.
- Fitness Center Usage:
- Access is limited to members in good standing; guests require prior approval.
- Violations of safety rules may result in suspension or loss of membership.
- Maintain respect for others, proper attire, and orderly behavior.
- CHEER is not liable for personal property loss or damage.
- Report any facility or equipment issues to the CHEER Director.
- Do not remove CHEER property or equipment from the Fitness Center.
- Members, individuals, or guests assume all risks when using the Fitness Center.
- Keep fitness activities within designated areas. No food or glass containers are allowed, except hydration beverages.
- Use house phones only for emergencies and minimize use of personal devices.
- Lockers are for day-use only; changing must occur in restrooms.
- Display sportsmanlike conduct and avoid disruptive behavior.
- Handle fitness equipment with care, clean after use, and return to its place.
- Photography is prohibited in the Fitness Center.
